Overview

Dr Dalia Dawoud is a lecturer at the School of Life and Medical Sciences (LMS). She is the Module Lead for “Clinical Pharmacy in Practice” and teaches on the core module "Evidence Based Practice". Dalia completed her undergraduate pharmacy degree at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University. She holds MSc degree in Economic Evaluations in Health Care, from City University London, and a PhD in Pharmacy, from King’s College London. Before taking up her current post, she worked at the National Guideline Centre, Royal College of Physicians (London), as Senior Health Economist, where she contributed to the development of a number of NICE guidelines covering a range of therapeutic areas including type 1 diabetes, venous thromboembolism, preoperative testing, IV fluids in Children, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), acute and emergency care, chronic heart failure, thyroid disease and joint replacement.

Dalia held a number of academic and research positions at  UK and Egyptian univeristies and has strong international links with schools of pharmacy in the USA, New Zealand, Australia and the UAE.

Dalia serves as Associate Editor for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research on the editorial board of Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy (RSAP) journal. She is also an editorial board member for Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice (JoPPP) and Elsevier open Access journal Heliyon. She is a regular reviewer of abstracts submitted to the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) conferences and adjudicates for UKCPA conference.
