Overview

Daniel was appointed as a Consultant Nurse in Learning Disabilities across Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust and the Centre for Learning Disability Studies at the University of Hertfordshire in January 2017. This position is concerned with the development of Nursing Leadership, Research and Education in clinical practice. 

Daniel has worked as a practice development nurse, supporting and implementing evidence in practice and supporting practitioners to share their innovations, in caring for people with learning disabilities. he undertook a funded participatory action research project with people with learning disabilities and frontline nurses as part of his Distinction award for MSc in Interprofessional Health and Social Care, for more details click here

Daniel has founded a number of organisations to facilitate community inclusion with people with learning disabilities, including Kent Surey Sussex Learning Disability Community of Practice, the Twitter based WeLDNurses and Anchorians Equal Teams Football Club - administered and run by and for people with learning disabilities. 

A committed practice developer, Daniel is an International Fellow of the Engalnd Centre for Practice Development, and has been a past member of the RCN Learning Disability Nursing Forum. 

Daniel is keen to develop communities that are committed to developing inclusive and participatory research intent on care and support that is person centred.
