Background & History
Originally trained as a nuclear physicist. Then worked as a computer programmer on air traffic control.
Moved to New York City for a Ph.D in mathematical psychology.
Returned to UK in 1972 as lecurer/senior lecturer in psychology at Hatfield Polytechnic, which became University of Hertfodshire in 1992. Became Associate Dean Research, 1995, Head of Health & Human Sciences Research Institute in 2004.
Forced to Retire in 2005 [age discrimination - everyone did it those days]
