Ewelina graduated with a Master-level qualification in Pharmacy and completed her PhD programme in cancer cellular biochemistry at the Medical University of Lodz, Poland.  Her work was investigating the mechanisms underlying the coagulation disorders in cancer. She took advantage of the chance to broaden her scientific horizons by completing an extramural collaboration placement first at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa and then at King’s College London during her PhD. During the last placement, she translated her skills into inhaled medicines development.  Following on, Ewelina pursued her current research interests as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Kings’ College London, before joining NC3R Crack-It Inhalation Translation Project in 2015, at University of Hertfordshire, UK. Ewelina has been involved in in-vitro work package of Crack-It project, which includes the development and validation of multi-parameter high-content assays to investigate alveolar macrophage responses to different stimuli.

Ewelina's current interests focus on development in vitro cell culture models for lung diseases and investigation the interactions between alveolar cells and inhaled therapeutics.
