My research interests have focussed on a number of material's engineering themes:
1) Lightweight fibre-reinforced polymer and ceramic composites, natural fibre/fabrics and their sustainable composite materials. This also includes functional nanomaterials for composite applications such as for Radar Cross-section (RCS) reduction for wind turbine rotor blades.
2) Nanoparticle's functionality, dispersibility and toxicities for their applications in biomedical, bio-devices, healthcare, and general engineering applications.
3) Material engineering and development for fission energy: inorganic clay minerals and antibacterial stainless steel for engineered barrier system (EBS) for nuclear waste (HLW/SF) disposal, and geological repository. In particularly, the mineral silicates clay for engineered backfill/buffer for the repository, and the canister's re-engineering for the waste management
