Dr Nika Balomenou

Overview

My research interests include tourism planning and development, visual methods and the use of participant-generated images in tourism research. I focus on host community empowerment and experience of tourism, responsible tourism, destinations in crisis, national parks and protected areas. I hold a doctorate in Tourism Planning and Visual Methods (University of Wales, Aberystwyth).

I teach L6 Tourism Planning and Research Methods at Masters Level. I currently supervise three PhD students and two DHeritage students and run seminars and workshops on the use of Participant-Generated Images in Social Science Research and Tourism Research in particular.
