As Reader in Film and Television Aesthetics, I have considerable expertise in the area of film and television style, interpretation and evaluation, with an emphasis on contemporary Hollywood and the serial drama. My work spans further afield via research into the modern phenomenon on Nordic noir and Swedish crime fiction, and the authorship of Aaron Sorkin. I am also the Programme Coordinator for the MA in Film and Television Aesthetics, and welcome PhD applications in associated fields. I am currently supervising a PhD student undertaking a thesis in slapstick comedy on film and television. My latest book is 'Swedish Crime Fiction: Novel, Film, Television' for Manchester University Press.
