Dr. Xavier Vazhappilly Francis is a research fellow at CAIR and is working on regional air quality modelling. His research expertise is in the use of WRF-CMAQ modelling system, satellite data assimilation, and initialization in meteorological models for air quality applications. Recently he has been focussing on investigating the role of different physical and chemical mechanisms that lead to ozone episodic conditions, sensitivity of CMAQ simulation on horizontal resolution, emission development, and boundary conditions and regional climate studies. He is actively participating in DEFRA, AQMEII, TRANSPHORM projects.
