Description

This interdisciplinary project investigates the use of biologically-inspired, embodied autonomous robots to elaborate models of (human) mental disorders, particularly compulsive spectrum disorder and addiction. The objective of this research is twofold: (1) understanding these mental disorders from a novel interdisciplinary perspective and investigating the potential use of robots in the treatment of such disorders; (2) developing autonomous robots with better cognitive and decision making capabilities, grounded in research on human cognition and its dysfunctions.
