Abstract

In recent years, greater attention has started to be paid to issues concerning openness and honesty when things go wrong in the care of service users, and in the subsequent whistleblowing by professionals, such as social workers. This guide aims to bring readers up-to-date with current issues, professional concerns, legal requirements, sources of support and good practice in the field of whistleblowing, which can make an essential contribution to the protection and best interests of some of the most vulnerable groups in our society – those who use social work services.
