The Centre for Computer Science and Informatics Research has three main areas of research:
- Adaptive systems
- Algorithms
- Biocomputation
The Centre also hosts a very highly regarded PhD programme. Find out more about the PhD Programme in Computer Science at the University of Hertfordshire.
In the Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014), half of CCSIR's research outputs were rated internationally excellent or world-leading. Find out more about our REF results.
Between 2008 and 2013, our research has received more than £8.4 million of external funding from the EU, UK research councils such as the EPSRC and BBSRC, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and foundations such as the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Garfield Weston Foundation and the Henry C. Hoare Charitable Trust.
We have one of the largest computer science departments at any university in the country.
