Several members of staff are engaged in research to better understand the health benefits of physical activity.
In particular, we are exploring the role of exercise within patient care, and we have a funded project by Crohn’s and Colitis UK to undertake a feasibility of moderate and high intensity exercise training in adults with Crohn’s Disease.
We have completed several research projects into the health benefits of outdoor activities, including street play for children and engagement in outdoor exercise in later life. There is also staff expertise in safeguarding athletes, and sport-related injury.
