The Public Involvement and Engagement in Health and Care Resaerch unit focuses on addressing inclusion, co-production and diversity in research, with specific expertise relating to the involvement of populations often under-represented in research studies.
Our activities fall into the following areas:
- Inclusive involvement in research
- Engaging and involving diverse communities, including those who are marginalised and under-served
- Participatory and creative methods
- Improving the evidence-base of public involvement – feedback and evaluating impact
- Coproduction
- Public co-applicants, co-researchers and collaboration with the Public Involvement in Research group (PIRg) - Involvement with children and young people (CYP)
- Training and supporting CYP’s involvement in research through the Herts YPAG
- Inclusive involvement of diverse CYP as co-applicants and advisors in specific projects
- CYP-led and co-produced research
- CYP’s participation in health and care services
- Involvement with older people
- Care home residents
- Dementia and family carers - Involvement with under-served communities
- People with Learning disabilities and autistic people
- Mental health service users and carers
