Overview
Dr. Aateka Patel is a Postdoctoral Research fellow within the School of Life and Medical Sciences/Centre for Topical Drug Delivery and Toxicology. Dr. Patel graduated with a Bachelors degree in Pharmacology at King’s College London (KCL) in 2008 and then went on to complete her PhD in Pharmaceutical Science at KCL in 2013 which included working at Med-Pharm. Dr. Patel continued work at KCL with the Sackler Institute of Pulmonary Pharmacology and the Drug Delivery research group. Her postdoctoral work focused on the safety and particokinetics of inhaled nanomedicines, before joining the NC3R Crack-It Inhalation Translation Project in 2015 assessing alveolar macrophage modulation, and inflammatory responses during regulatory safety testing. Dr. Patel joined the University of Hertfordshire in 2019 working on developing novel treatments associated with respiratory diseases and assessing the use of dry powder inhalers, and impact of inhaled device resistance on inhalation physiology.
