Overview

I am the Programme Lead of the MSc Transport Planning and a Lecturer in Environment and Society in the Geography, Environment and Planning Subject Group. I am also a Senior Research Assistant within the Smart Mobility Unit at the Univerity of Hertfordshire.

Research interests

My research interests are primarily centred around migration and migrant experiences but I also have a keen interest in issues related to transport, integration and segregation and tourism.

I have previously researched the experiences and integration level of Latino migrants in North Carolina, USA, and my doctoral research focused on housing experiences and future aspirations of Polish migrants in the UK for my PhD project. I have also been involved in various research outputs related to transport through my work as a Senior Research Assistant in the Smart Mobility Unit at UH.

My main teaching specialisms are topics that are related to human migration and mobility

Commercial and public engagement

- Fellow of the Higher Education Academy

- Postgraduate Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.

- Was a member of the Association of American Geographers (2017-2019)

- Attended a variety of Researcher Development Programme sessions at UH.

- Attended a few migration related conferences 2015-2016, such as the Annual Polish Migration Conference at UCL.

- Presented a research poster at the Life and Medical Sciences Research Conference in April 2017.

- Presented 4 presentations at UH as a part of a postgraduate seminar series (2015-2019).

- Presented my PhD research at the Life and Medical Sciences Research Conference (April 2019). 

-Took part in an ERASMUS exchange visit to Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Architecture de Grenoble (ENSAG), France, to share ideas and discuss plans to develop a summer school between ENSAG and UH. (28th-29th June 2018). 

- Attended the Academic Association for Contemporary European Studies (UACES) Doctoral Training Academy at Aston University, Birmingham(Nov 2018). 

- Presented my PhD research at two international conferences: 

The Association of American Geographers (AAG) Annual Meeting in New Orleans USA (April 2018). 

The Association of American Geographers (AAG) Annual Meeting in Washington D.C. USA (April 2019).
