Mrs Bridget Russell

Bridget's research covers multiple areas of health and health care across the lifesapan. She has worked with young people with haemophilia to investigate the problems of maintaining concordance with prescribed prophylactic regimes; adults with rheumatoid artheritis, devising and testing a text message system for reminders for six monthly hospital appointments.

In the area of mental health Bridget has conducted semi-structured interviews with people who hold a delusional beliefs due to psychosis with the aim of identifying the trigger points at which reasoning goes awry and the mechanisms which lead to and maintain the delusional reasoning.

More recently Bridget has been working with health care professionals and providers of residential homes for elderly people investigating how care is given to people with dementia who have other comorbid conditions and complex care needs.
