Personal profile

Overview

I am a Social Gerontologist with research interests crossing disciplinary boundaries incorporating Sociology, Human & Urban Geography, and Social & Health Psychology. My key interests include how social exclusion and inclusion, and social and human capital impact on active ageing, ageing-in-place, and age-friendly cities and communities; and how they influence older peoples’ participation in governance, and inform social policy. I also have a developing interest in related health and social care research focusing on population ageing and healthy ageing from a social network and support perspective.
