Overview

Claudia has been teaching at the University of Hertfordshire since 2002. Previously, she worked at Wainwright and Cummins Solicitors specialising in Criminal defence work and defence Medical Negligence. Since arriving at the University of Hertfordshire she has taught Travel law, Tort, Criminal law (both undergraduate and on the Graduate Diploma of Law) and Medical law.  Specialising in Medical Law, Claudia has led the Level 6 optional module for the past 18 years. She also leads Medical Law and Ethics at postgraduate level. Her PhD thesis focussed on the  'therapeutic privilege exception' to informed consent, offering a redefined definition to a paternalistic approach to informed consent. She has been interviewed on Radio on several occasions on Assisted Dying and has a special interest in all issues related to end of life.
