Overview

Darshan Kakkad is a Senior Lecturer specialising in observational studies of nearby and distant galaxies hosting supermassive black holes. He joined University of Hertfordshire in August 2024 as a CAR fellow. Prior to this, he was a Prize fellow at Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, US (2022-2024) and an ESO-fellow in Chile and University of Oxford (2017-2021). He obtained his PhD from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany in 2017 on the topic of "Ionized and molecular gas studies to unveil AGN feedback" and his B.Sc. (Hons) Physics and M.Sc. Physics from University of Delhi and Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, respectively.
