Personal profile

Overview

Dr Haeyoung Lee is a Senior Lecturer in Mobile Communication within the School of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science (SPECS) at the University of Hertfordshire (UH). She also serves as the Programme Leader for BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE). Before joining the UH, she was a Senior Research Fellow at the 5G/6G Innovation Centre (5G/6GIC), University of Surrey. Prior to her academic career, she worked in the communication industry at Samsung Electronics, Korea, where she worked in designing an internet platform for CDMA mobiles. She later moved to the Radio Research Agency (RRA) under the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) in Korea, focusing on research into  dynamic spectrum access and spectrum harmonisation. She has been actively involved in several EU projects, including OneFIT, Speed-5G, Clear5G, 5G-HEART, and DEDICAT6G. She has organised multiple IEEE conference workshops and has served as the TPC chair for the ICOIN (Int'l Conf. on Information Networking) since 2023. She currently serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology and as an Academic Editor for the MDPI Topic 'Machine Learning in Communication Systems and Networks'. Dr. Lee is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
