Personal profile

Overview

Israt is a Lecturer in the Department of Engineering at University of Hertfordshire. Her teaching responsibility includes lecturing on Materials in Engineering, Automotive Materials Manufacturing and Properties of Materials; supervising UG and PG students projects and assessments. Earlier, she worked in an EU funded project and a UKRI project on Additive Manufacturing for three-and-a-half-years, where she gathered a comprehensive knowledge on functionally graded additive manufacturing technique, standardisation for AM and innovation and sustainability of AM. She also developed a Life Cycle Assessment model to quantify sustainability of WAAM process.

Israt attained a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from City, University of London, where she learned finite element modelling technique of advanced laser surface modification treatments for metals and alloys. Her Master and Bachelor in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering equipped her with hands-on experience on various materials characterisation techniques, materials processing, joining and forming methods. Her current research interests include development of the functionally graded additive manufacturing (laser-based), applications of modelling and simulation techniques for advanced and digital manufacturing processes and sustainable manufacturing.
