Currently carrying out research relating to chronic lung disease and end of life care. Some questions to ponder:

1. Should a person be told if their condition is incurable? Who should tell them?
2. Do you have the skills to answer their questions if they ask you?
3. Do people want to know and what/when do they want information?
4. Do we fully involve the carers/families in the discussion re future care?

The death is the thing we often remember first about someone's life once they have died, so we need to try and make sure it's a good death where at all possible.
