Overview
Jon is a Senior Lecturer in Strength and Conditioning at the University of Hertfordshire. He is an accredited strength and conditioning coach with the UK Strength and Conditioning Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Jon has provided coaching support to a variety of athletes from elite to recreational. Most of his work has been with professional football, combat sport and track and field athletes.
His PhD was undertaken at Manchester Metropolitan University investigating the molecular physiology of musculoskeletal soft tissue injuries in elite rugby athletes, with a focus on ligament and tendon injuries. His current research interests are focused on the genetic influence of concussion and performance phenotypes in elite rugby athletes and the effects of extreme exercise on kidney health.
