Overview

Julia Warrener graduated from Keele University in 1993 with an MA in Social Work.  She worked in community services for adults in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, specialising in working with people with mental health problems. She became a Senior Social Worker in a medium secure forensic service in 2001. She has an interest in working with people with personality disorder.

Julia Warrener first joined the University of Hertfordshire in 2001 as a secondee. She registerred her Ph.D in 2004. She became a Senior Lecturer in 2007. Julia became Professional/Academic Lead for Social Work in September 2015.

Julia's research interests centre on service user and public involvement, with a focus on understanding the experiene of marginalised groups. Particular subjects of interest:
