Personal profile

Overview

I am a researcher in the field of economic anthropology with a general interest in access to natural resources and a more specific focus on rural livelihoods, household food security, and gendered land rights in India.

As an interdisciplinary researcher, I combine methods and perspectives from cultural anthropology, gender studies, economics, and rural development. My main research method is ethnography and during my research project on social mobilities in South India, I started exploring the use of film in data collection and dissemination.

I completed my PhD from the University of Hertfordshire in February 2022 with a dissertation titled: Access to Land, the Household, and Food Security: Exploring gendered links in Rural South India
