Overview

Dr Luigi Pintacuda is an Architect, Principal Lecturer in Architecture and Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Architecture at the University of Hertfordshire with over 15 years of international experience.
Luigi's expertise span from the urban scale to the building, with a particular focus on the investigation of the existing urban environments and possible scenarios, through the analysis of digital georeferenced data. 
His research-informed educational approach to retrofit allowed academics and students to develop specific tools to decode, reuse and improve existing buildings, as architects' main contribution to reducing carbon emissions to preserve the environment alongside cultural values. 
Luigi has been involved in national and international research projects engaging with public and private stakeholders.
Luigi has published several books, chapters, and peer-reviewed articles in journals and international conferences.
