Overview
Marija Cubric is a Reader in e-learning at the University of Hertfordshire Business School She received a BCs/MSc in Mathematics/Informatics from the University of Belgrade and a PhD in Computer Science from Concordia University in Montreal. Before academia, she worked on expert systems , network management and agile software development in industries in Serbia, Canada and the UK.
In 2007 Marija was awarded a Blended Learning Teacher status by the UKRI (HEFCE) Centre for Excellence for development and promotion of innovative blended learning practices in Higher Education (2007-2011). From 2011 to 2015, she was the course director for ITMB, the first UK Tech Gold Degree.
Marija has supervised 4 doctoral and more than 30 Master dissertations to completion. She has published in the area of information systems, and e-learning and has worked on national and international research projects (COST, JISC, HEA). She is currenlty serving as a Journal Editor of EJEL (Scopus, ESCI, ABS), and a reviewer for several high-impact journals. She has also worked as a consultant for the EU Innovation Council, the British Computing Society, and the UK Tech.
In 2021 Marija was a visiting scholar at Concordia University Montreal researching AI implementation in FinTech.
