Overview
Dr Nkiruka Umaru (Nikkie) is currently a Principal Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy. In addition to Nikkie’s academic and research background, she also has working experience in various sectors of pharmacy practice including hospital, community and primary care. Nikkie’s research interests include patient and medication safety and medicines optimisation in vulnerable patient groups across the healthcare interface. She also has an interest in healthcare professionals’ and patients’ perspectives on healthcare service delivery and provision. She is involved in the supervision of PhD research projects within these areas as well as supervision of MSc research projects focusing on topical issues in pharmaceutical care services and delivery.
