Overview

Dr Qi Luo is a Reader in Radio-Frequency Engineering at the School of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science, University of Hertfordshire, the UK. He received his MSc degree with distinction from the University of Sheffield, the UK in 2006 and his PhD degree from the University of Porto, Portugal with distinction in 2012. From 2012-2013, Dr Luo worked at Surrey space centre, the UK as a research fellow. After that, he worked at the School of Engineering and Digital Arts, University of Kent, the UK as a senior research fellow. In this period, he worked on several research projects funded by the European Commission, British Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, and industry, collaborating with many international industrial and academic partners. Currently, he is a visiting senior research fellow in the School of Engineering & Digital Arts, the University of Kent.

 

Dr Luo is a senior member of IEEE. He has been serving as a reviewer for many high-impact journals and international conferences including IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, IEEE Transactions on Vehicle Technology, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, IEEE Access, IET Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, Electronic Letters, EuCAP Conferences, etc. Dr Luo is an associated editor of IEEE AWPL and IEEE ACCESS.

 

Dr Luo's research interests are smart antennas, phased arrays, antennas for mobile communications (mobile phone and base station), metasurfaces, microwave components and RF circuits. He is looking for potential PhD students. Interested students should send his/her CV with a research plan by email.
