Overview

Rafael S. de Souza is an astrophysicist specialising in Astrostatistics and Extragalactic Astrophysics. He has published over 70 papers in refereed journals and is the founder and chair of the Cosmostatistics Initiative. Rafael is also a Prose Award Winner for his book, Bayesian Models for Astrophysical Data, published by Cambridge University Press, and former Vice-President of the International Astrostatistics Association. Before coming to the University of Hertfordshire, Rafael worked at several institutions, including the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Eotvos Lorand University, the Korean Astronomy and Space Science Institute, and the Kavli IPMU.
