Salvatore Livatino is Reader in Virtual Reality and Robotics (Associate Professor) at the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. MSc in Computer Science from University of Pisa, Italy ('93), PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Aalborg University, Denmark ('03). He was researcher at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa ('93-'97), University of Leeds, UK ('95), INRIA Grenoble, France ('96), University of Edinburgh, UK ('01). He worked 12 years at Aalborg University, Denmark, first as Research Fellow, then Assistant and Associate Professor. His research interests include 3D visualization & computer graphics, stereoscopic-3D viewing, virtual & augmented reality, telerobotics & telemedicine, computer games & interactive visual interfaces, with works combining those fields, e.g. 3D stereoscopic vision and augmented reality visual interfaces for robot telecontrol, depth-enhanced medical endoscopic teleintervention, immersive computer games. He is the author of several journal and conference papers, and contributed to several European projects and UK grants. His teaching experience has mostly been within problem-based learning and multidisciplinary educations.
