Overview

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics, and Deputy Director of our Research Centre for Mathematics and Theoretical Physics.

Research interests

My research interests include higher categorical structures in geometry and topology, as well as their applications in machine learning, field theories and topological phases of matter.

Teaching specialisms

I teach mathematics and data science, but also have a background in physics. Currently, I am the module leader on Linear Algebra (year one BSc Data Science and BSc Mathematics). I have redesigned and modernised this module to include many  current applications of Linear Algebra in data science and  machine learning.

Previously lead the module IT Litearcy and Core Skills (year one BSc Data Science). In addition, I am teaching half of the module Fundamentals in Data Science (year one MSc Data Science).
