Research interests
Dr Sharon Mutare is a Research Fellow in the School of Health and Social Work at the University of Hertfordshire. Her current role is within the Research and Innovation Hub in collaboration with the Integrated Care System (ICS). Sharon’s professional background includes mental health, adult community care, special needs education and care, diabetes prevention, dietary and lifestyle research in minority populations, and maternal and foetal health nutrition. She is currently completing her PhD in Maternal and Infant Health Nutrition in which her work is centred around the first 1000days of life in Emirati women in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). She has collaborated in fertility health projects in the UAE in addition to her PhD work. Her masters project in the United Kingdom (UK) focused on the dietary and lifestyle habits within the African Diaspora, and her research work includes qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
Her passion lies at the intersection of public health and research, where she strives to identify gaps in research and drive innovative approaches in this crucial area. Sharon is committed to making meaningful contributions to the field and improving health outcomes in the UK population.
