Personal profile
Overview
I work as a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology on the DClinPsy programme at the University of Hertfordshire. I am also the tutor for the international trainees on the Programme.
Additionally, I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist and Chartered Psychologist with the BPS. I combine extensive research expertise with specialist clinical practice, with a particular interest in examining complex and often underexplored areas of psychology.
My two main research interests are:
Hoarding Disorder (HD) - its impact on the person and the system (including family and the wider system), aetiology, intersection with other mental health disorders and developing innovative approaches to case conseptualisation and treatment.
Stammering (i.e., developmental fluency disorder) - exploring the psychological outcomes for people who stammer and how it might be modulated by psychological factors (i.e., fear of speaking; trauma) and how these develop.
I am currently supervising a second-year trainee project, entitled Multidisciplinary clinicians’ accounts of facilitating systemic consultations for individuals with co-occurring learning disabilities and autism: A reflexive thematic analysis.
