Overview

Dr Siqi Wang graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Aerospace Engineering in 2014 from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and received an MSc degree in Autonomous Vehicle Dynamics and Control from Cranfield University the following year. She was awarded her PhD from Cranfield University in 2020 with a thesis on Intelligent-based Hybrid-electric Propulsion System for Aero Vehicle. 

She is currently a lecturer in School of Physics, Engineering & Computer Science. Her research area is in the area of smart algorithms for solving current issues with smart Electric Vehicle (EV) charging and community energy systems. These algorithms help find the most optimal operations of systems to reduce energy bills or other specific goals.

Prior to that, she was a post-doc research fellow at Cranfield University from 2020 to 2023, successfully led and completed multi-disciplinary research projects in collaboration with industrial partners. These projects revolved around critical areas such as Smart Electric Vehicle Charging, Renewable Energy Systems, and Carbon Assessment, contributing to the advancement of sustainable technologies.

One recent endeavor is the collaborative project, 'Advanced Grid Services Provided by Optimized Electric Vehicle Community and Fleet Charging,' undertaken in partnership with SNRG limited. The primary objective of the project was to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study to test and develop a business model and technically specify an energy and fleet management platform. This platform would support EV communities and fleet operators by enabling efficient scheduling and optimization of fleet charging and usage.

Other projects are such as 'North Northamptonshire to Net Zero', 'Intelligent-based Operation for the Utility-scale Hybrid PV Battery System', and 'Carbon Calculator Independent Review for LTC'. She provided effective solutions for these sustainable projects.
