Overview

A social scientist with with degrees in social anthropology and human geography and doctoral and postdoctoral work on agricultural innovation. Ten years of experience at UKRI (NERC and ESRC) working on environmental research and research impact.

Areas of expertise include agricultural innovation systems, environmental impact of agriculture, environmental policy, and environmental research management. And potatoes.

Research methods are largely qualitative: interviews, participant observation and document analysis.

Now working on beef and sheep marketing systems, governance and food value chains with animal scientists at the Royal Veterinary College.

Qualitative editor for the methods blog of the Social Research Association.
