Personal profile

Overview

I carry out research, teaching and consultancy in cyber security assessments. I am experienced in all aspects of Information Operations (IO) with excellent understanding of the Information Security (IS) lifecycle.

I did my studies in South Wales, UK where I was awarded a PhD in Cyber Threat Assessment. From 2006 to 2012 I was the Head of the Centre for Information Operations at the University of Wales, Newport. During that period I acted as a cyber-expert for the Welsh Government and for the Welsh Officer’s Training Core (OTC). From 2012 to 2015 I was training the Armed Forces Intelligence personnel on penetration testing and digital forensics. Currently I am a Principal Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire where I lead the development of an innovative technology that automates threat assessments.

Proactive and energetic with a goal-oriented approach and hands-on experience, liaising directly with customers, risk managers, technical teams and end users for delivering solutions that address business needs and user requirements. I lead by example, driven by a thirst for delivering new technologies. I advise policy makers and write policy where and when required. Dedicated and committed, I always enjoy a good discussion/debate. Open to people, not simply ‘open-door’ policy. I always deliver.
