Overview

Suzanne Fergus is an Associate Professor at the University of Hertfordshire. In 2016 Suzanne was awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry's Higher Education Teaching Award for her sustained innovations in chemistry teaching. She was also awarded a National Teaching Fellowship in 2017 for excellence in teaching and outstanding impact on student learning and the teaching profession. She is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Suzanne's research is primarily focused in the area of chemistry education. She has a strong interest in using technology and innovative approaches to support meaningful learning. Suzanne is also involved in chemistry research in the area of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) where her organic chemistry expertise supports collaborations with colleagues and supervision of PhD research students in this area.
