Overview

Dr. Ambreen is a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at the School of Engineering and Computer Science (SPECS), University of Hertfordshire. She obtained her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Kyungpook National University, South Korea, in February 2021. Her doctoral research focused on analysing the hydrothermal performance of MXene-based nanofluids in pin-fin heat sinks for electronic thermal management applications. This involved synthesising and characterising nanofluids, developing computational models to simulate nanofluids’ fluid flow characteristics, and conducting experimental analysis.

Subsequently, she worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher (2021-2022) at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering at Kyungpook National University, South Korea, where she focused on the design optimisation of parabolic trough collectors to improve their thermal performance. Later, she joined the University of Sheffield (2022-2023) as a Research Associate, where she contributed to a multidisciplinary project on an electro-mechanical magnetic blade pitch control mechanism for an open rotor engine. Her role involved designing thermal management systems for power and microelectronics exposed to high dissipation loads and extreme operating conditions.

Research interests
