Overview

Usame is a Lecturer in Operational Research at Hertfordshire Business School. He specialised in operational modelling of patient and disease pathways (e.g. COPD, HIV) with discrete event simulation. During his PhD here, he developed a decision support tool to improve the management of COPD patients. 

Usame holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering and an MSc in Engineering Management. He is an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). He has carried out projects about supporting decision-makers to increase efficiency in production and service industries. His research areas are discrete event simulation, patient pathway modelling, healthcare data (HES), and health economics.
