Personal profile
Overview
Usame is a Senior Lecturer in Operational Research at Hertfordshire Business School. He specialised in the operational modelling of patient flow and disease pathways, with particular focus on conditions such as COPD, HIV, and CVD. During his PhD here, he developed a decision support tool to improve the management of COPD patients.
Usame holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering and an MSc in Engineering Management. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He has led projects supporting decision-makers in enhancing efficiency across both production and service industries. His research focuses on discrete event simulation, healthcare modelling, decision support tools, healthcare data (HES), and health economics.
