A field-based evaluation of the Schmidt hammer exposure dating (SHED) technique for reconstructing Late Quaternary landscape change.

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

This research (i) evaluates the use of the SHED technique in the NW Scottish Highlands; (ii) develops a local, lithology- specific calibration curve; (iii) applies this to estimate the age of undated glaciated surfaces and rock-slope failures (RSF) and tests existing interpretations of Late Quaternary landscape change.
