Project Details

Description

This is a CDA PhD studentship arising from the partnership between UH Heritage Hub and Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. The partnership is based on a shared commitment to reveal the cultural value of sporting heritage and to provide access for people, communities and institutions to heritage assets. We aim to bring together archival materials and people’s memories of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club (THFC). The archive is the corporate memory of the club and its fans, from the 1890s to the present-day. Its formation is inextricably linked with Tottenham communities, inter-generational relationships and changing neighbourhoods. The research will focus on understanding the club as a heritage community, linking sport with a diverse area of London and a global fan base.
