Description
This research is examining the challenges of shared parental leave, mainly looking at the reasons why mothers may/may not want to share their leave with their partners. The law on shared parental leave came into force on the 5th of April 2015. However, mothers were made gatekeepers to decide whether or not to give up maternity leave and opt for shared parental leave. The decision of the mothers could make the law on shared parental leave effective or ineffective.
