Characterising in vitro airway responses to inhaled particulates

Project: Other

Project Details

Description

This project will aid in improving the development of new inhaled therapies for respiratory diseases such as COPD, asthma and cystic fibrosis. The need for better control and new, safe medicines for these conditions is highlighted with the surge in the ageing population. Through characterising how the airways respond to different types of drug exposure, improved human in vitro predictions can be made earlier on in drug development. This work will support the development of new, safe medicines for airway diseases for which there is a growing worldwide need.
