Project Details
Description
Studies on the microbial ecology of pathogens in these environments and the exposures brought to pig livestock would further the understanding of factors supporting carriage and transmission of microbial pathogens at the farm level to abattoirs. Related, surveys on the practices used in pig and pork production to support animal welfare, biosecurity, and food safety would provide an improved understanding on critical points and opportunities and gaps to control microbial risks.
