    Project Details

    Description

The Canons Park (CP) Teaching Schools Alliance (TSA) and the University of Hertfordshire (UH) have been working in collaboration since 2014 on Harrow First (HF), a salaried, school direct programme of initial teacher education. The programme provides a unique and challenging route into teaching, which includes a summer school; curriculum content that reflects the realities of practice; research and evidence-based practice; an enquiring approach to practice development; and the support of school-based mentors and higher level teaching assistants (HLTA) - all framed within a ‘clinical practice’ model.
Canons Park TSA is seeking to evaluate the way in which to which this clinical practice model is an effective means of training teachers, and will collaborate with the School of Education at the University of Hertfordshire to explore this area.
