Project Details
Description
Using EEG we study the mental states of expert meditators and of controls participants. We use discrete dynamical systems methods to create epsilon-machine models of these processes in order to understand their complexity and temporal structure, and to compare and contrast the neurodynamics of the two groups. This is a collaboration between the Centre for Computer Science and Informatics Research of the University of Hertfordshire and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King's College London (lead institution; Dr. Elena Antonova, PI). Total grant award €45,000.
