Diaspora Film Pedagogies: Collaborative Filmmaking and Intercultural Learning

This project partners with The Spit Game – a cultural organisation collaboratively led by young people in London, whose work specialises in short-film production. This project responds to the partner’s requests to fill knowledge gaps in diaspora aesthetics, utilising original research by Dr James Harvey on diasporic arts and film practices. This will feed directly into the development of new narrative and aesthetic approaches to diaspora screen work, in the form of The Spit Game’s production of an original short film. The film will then be used in schools workshops, engaging themes of diasporic identities and expression.
