Project Details
Description
This research project by the Illustration Research Group aims to capture and respond to the experience of a digital walk – particularly the unintended diversions, serendipitous encounters, and ill-advised shortcuts through poorly-lit alleyways. The main motivation for this work is an interest in the impact of the sudden arrival of the Internet in the late 1990s and particularly the way in which platforms such as GeoCities gave millions of people the opportunity to design and curate a public, online, representation of their lives and interests.
